CAMPUS DINING

The University of Alabama Dining Services provides students, faculty, and staff with a wide range of on-campus dining options in several campus locations.

Located in the Ferguson Center, the Fresh Food Company restaurant offers the ultimate campus dining experience. Modeled after an open marketplace with no back-of-the-house kitchen, it features upscale foods from around the globe, which are prepared and customized with fresh ingredients. The Ferguson Center Food Court offers brands such as Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Blimpie, Tortilla Fresca, Bene Pasta and Pizzeria, Bama BBQ, Salad Garden, and the Home Zone at Café Tuscaloosa. Also located in the Ferguson Center are Starbucks coffeehouse (main floor) and Freshens Yogurt and Smoothie (first floor).

Java City, an on-campus gourmet coffeehouse located on the bottom floor of Gorgas Library, offers everything from café white mocha to Chai tea latte to pastries. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the 24 Hour Diner in Paty Hall is modeled after a '50s diner and provides the opportunity to grab a bite to eat anytime. Located in Burke Hall, Commons Dining Hall offers unlimited seconds and a variety of options. Also located in Burke Hall is Buffalo Phil's, featuring several flavors of wings and convenience items. Located in Rose Towers is Towers Market, providing grocery and convenience items for residents. Blimpie and Julia's Market are located in Tutwiler Hall and offer a selection of sandwiches and an expanded convenience store.

Meal memberships. A meal membership is an optional account. Meals in a membership are sold at a discount. Memberships are time efficient by saving students the hassle of grocery store trips, cooking, or cleaning. Whether living in a residence hall or commuting to campus, the Meal Membership Program offers flexible options to fit any student's lifestyle needs. Go online to http://bamadining.com for more information on the Membership Program.

*Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars is a required account. All undergraduate students are billed $225.00 for each fall and spring semester in which they enroll for 9 hours or more and $50.00 for each summer or Interim session in which they enroll for 5 hours or more. Dining Dollars is automatically billed to the student's account and is accessed using the Action Card. Students may use Dining Dollars at all Bama Dining locations and selected vending machines.

Unspent funds remaining from the fall semester are carried forward into the spring semester. Unspent funds remaining from the spring and summer semesters are transferred to a Bama Cash account; however, each student has the option of requesting a credit of the Dining Dollars balance at the end of the spring semester (April 15 through July 1). By filling out a credit application, funds remaining in the Dining Dollars account after the last day of published final examinations for the spring semester will be credited to the student account maintained by Student Receivables. Applications for credit are available at the Bama Dining Office after April 15. Students who enroll for the summer term or fall semester and do not enroll for the spring semester may request a refund of their unspent fall Dining Dollars.
