SWA 101 Elementary Swahili I. Three hours.

Contemporary Swahili—speaking, reading, and writing. Course involves self-instructional approach with tapes and texts in the Critical Languages Center. Students meet three hours per week with a tutor. It is the first semester of college-level study in Swahili. Offered each semester.

SWA 102 Elementary Swahili II. Three hours.

Prerequisite: SWA 101 or equivalent.
