ARTS ADMINISTRATION

An arts administration option within the baccalaureate degree program is available in the areas of art, music, and theatre. The option is designed to provide the student with a curriculum in the arts combined with a minor in business. The arts administration option directs the student toward potential employment in art galleries, museums, civic and private theatres, and recital halls. It also prepares the student for potential employment in local and state arts councils and arts funding organizations.

The basis for the arts administration option is a major in studio art, art history, music, or theatre with specified ancillary requirements and a minor in management, marketing, or general business. The remainder of the hours required for the degree are College of Arts and Sciences requirements and electives. See "Arts Administration Option" (p. 71); "Theatre Administration Option" (p. 115); and "Music Administration" (p. 102).
