Allen Bales Theatre (A. B. Theatre).
The Allen Bales Theatre series is the laboratory for the College of Arts and Sciences theatre program, and most productions are directed by graduate students in directing as part of their degree program requirements. Casting is open to the University community, and everyone is invited to audition. Auditions are usually held the first few days of classes each semester. For further information about the A. B. Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre (ARDT).
ARDT is the pre-professional on-campus and touring company designed to prepare and enrich dance students for the diverse demands of a professional career. Auditions for ARDT occur early in the fall semester. For more information, call
Presenting two full concerts each year, Dance Alabama! is the student dance company whose members are selected in open auditions in both the fall and spring semesters. For more information, call (205) 348-5283.
The University Theatre in the College of Arts and Sciences provides students and other members of the University community opportunities to work with theatre and dance faculty in productions at the Marian Gallaway Theatre. Presenting four theatre and two dance productions annually, the University Theatre permits interested people to work in many capacities, both on stage and off. There is a wide range of available dramatic experiences, from the classics to the contemporary. There are also regular world premieres of new plays, part of the College's new playwrights program. Casting is open to the University community, and everyone is invited to audition. Auditions are usually held during the first week of classes each semester.
