LS 404 Media Production and Utilization. Three hours.

Consists of instructional modules that introduce the student to the basic skills in the preparation and utilization of educational media.

LS 421 Materials and Services for Children. Three hours.

Explores the materials (print and nonprint) and programs appropriate for children age three to 12.

LS 422 Materials and Services for Young Adults. Three hours.

Explores the materials (print and nonprint) and programs appropriate for teenagers.

LS 440 Advanced Media Production and Utilization. Three hours.

Prerequisite: LS 404.

Consists of instructional modules that advance the student to the more complex skills in the preparation and utilization of educational media.

LS 452 Modern Book Publishing. Three hours.

Examination of American book publishing in the 20th century. The publisher's functions are identified, and the role of the publisher in cultural life is traced from the late 19th century to the present. Attention is paid to authorship, methods of bookmaking, book distribution, and contemporary commercial and technological trends affecting publishing.
