The Sakura Festival is a celebration of Japanese culture and friendship held annually in March by the Japan Culture and Information Center.
Highlights include the Haiku Japanese poetry contest and Matsuri in the Mall, which features an exciting variety of Japanese cultural exhibits and performances at McFarland Mall.
The Japan Culture and Information Center serves UA and the community with information, educational programs, and cultural activities about Japan and the Japanese people. The center also provides assistance and information about life in the U.S. to Japanese students and residents.
